Are you ahead or behind the home business curve?

Are you ahead of the curve or behind it? It has been reported that by the year 2010 everyone will have to have a home based business to provide supplemental income for their families.

Even you at one time or another has toyed with the idea of working from home… no more boss… no more suits and ties… no more traffic backups going to work. Some have even plunked down their hard earned dollars and purchased a program or 2. You know the ones… they fill the internet today with glitzy pictures of HUGE homes, fancy cars, beautiful people all smiling and let’s not forget gobs of cash! Run… Run Now… As Fast As You Can Away From that hype!

Didn’t your parents ever tell you ~ all that glitters is not gold? Sure they did. Did you listen? Not! Don’t fall for the con-artists that promise you will have cash by tomorrow or next week. Think a little… the actual getting rich is done by the person selling YOU the product. If they were so rich… why would they be looking for your money?

When it gets time to be serious about Internet Marketing from home you need to make sure you are up to the challenge. Yes, we know all the web sites say it is easy as 1 – 2 – 3, all you have to do is follow your sponsors lead or better yet – totally automated so you do not have to do anything.

If that is your idea of working from home then you are really in for a resounding sonic boom followed by tornado strength winds. What in the world are we talking about? It is the sound of all your money being sucked right out of your wallet and probably the lint too. And if that didn’t take your breath away… your significant other will complete the task when they see the checkbook.

Developing and managing a home based business takes time, patience, a lot of knowledge about geekie things like html, php, blog, page rank, tags and much more including an awful lot of your time. words 150x150

So how do you know how to find the right business? Do your research.. after all you are on the internet. Here are the top 5 things to look for:

1. Does your new sponsor actually have a personal website where you can find out information about them?

2. Is the program an affiliate type of program that has a link registered to the product? Like www.abcproduct.com/jjones12789.

3. What sort of training is offered? After you spend your dollars is there someone who will help answer your questions?

4. Has the product or service just been released or around for awhile and here to stay?

5. What are the hidden costs that you will need to pay? Things like fees for website administration, autosponder message services, credit card processors, advertising.

To make sure you get ahead of the curve and not thrown under the bus do your homework. Learn the language of the internet. Find out who you can count on for everything from advice and answers to your questions… all the way to where to find the best marketing value.

Don’t be left out.. plan now.. attend several different product demonstration webinars (but don’t fall for the sales pitch).. begin learning about simple html code.. and look for other internet marketers that are successful that you can follow.

The road could have a lot of bumps and potholes or just resurfaced and smooth. The choice is yours!

Informative! The one thing to always remember is that normal folks are likely to be your best asset in a home based business. The so called gurus don’t help you, they only make the big bucks because you “need” their products.
I wouldn’t and don’t promote “programs” either unless it is a traffic performance tool.
A business you choose should be something that has a real value,a real product and be able to be explained in a forthright manner to the person next to you in line at the grocery store easily.
